Is Spending Quality Time as a Family Difficult?
A concept often discussed but rarely pursued: “spending quality time as a family.” At TÜZDER, we focus on fostering quality family time with nearly all the intelligence and mind games we produce and recommend. Games like tangrams, widely used abroad, cater to different types of intelligence in children and also help solve various problems.
Square Tangram
Tangram is said to have originated in China, where it was called “ch’i ch’iao t’u.” Later, it was introduced to English as “tangram.” The origin of the word “tramgram,” which means puzzle or trinket in English, is unclear. The first known use of the word in English was by Thomas Hill, who later became the president of Harvard University. It appeared in his 1848 book, Geometric Puzzles for Young People.
To create the shapes in tangram, all seven pieces must be used. These pieces include one square, five triangles of varying sizes, and one parallelogram. Some sources suggest these pieces represent the Sun, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, and Venus.
Square tangram, suitable for children aged three and older, is a puzzle-like game that allows the creation of various geometric shapes. The goal is to form shapes provided in the set using all seven pieces. This game can be played individually, with family members, siblings, or classmates. It enhances hand-eye coordination, psychomotor skills, and visual memory.
T Tangram
The T tangram is an intelligence game based on combining four wooden geometric pieces to create various forms. Developed as a simplified version of the square tangram, it is suitable for players aged four and above. With 15 levels and 100 problems, T tangram helps address attention, concentration, and focus issues.
Its progressive difficulty makes it accessible for all ages, starting with easy challenges and gradually advancing to more complex problems.
